PHYSICIANS

We are a group of highly trained physicians specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and care of adult patients who suffer from kidney-related diseases and disorders. The focus of our extensive education, training and experience qualifies each of our practicing physicians with the highest level of professional expertise in every area of renal medicine.

Our physicians practice at our three facilities located in Pierce and South King Counties, at several conveniently located dialysis treatment units and at major hospitals in the area.

 


Zheng Ge
Dr. Ge received his degree from Shanghai Medical University in 1987. He moved to the States the following year and received his Ph.D in biochemistry at Case Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.Having served his residency in Internal Medicine at Cleveland’s Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Ge commenced a Fellowship in Nephrology at Stanford Medical Center in California. He completed his studies and became Board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in 2000 and again in 2008. He moved to the Northwest to begin his practice at Pacific Nephrology in 2000.Dr. Ge enjoys traveling with his family and playing tennis with his daughters.

June He
Dr. He received her training at Shanghai Medical University and served her residency in Pathology at Shanghai Cancer Hospital in China. From 1990 to 1995 she worked and studied in the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and received her Ph.D there. She continued at Southwestern in a post-doctoral capacity working in biomedical research and in the field of wound healings.From 1997 to 2000, Dr. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She then began a Nephrology Fellowship, also at the medical school, and finished it in June 2002.Board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, Dr. He moved to the Northwest and began her practice at Pacific Nephrology in July of 2002. She served as Medical Director for DaVita Washington Acute Dialysis Service for five years and is currently Medical Director for DaVita Federal Way Dialysis Center.June cherishes spending time with her husband and two sons. She and her family especially enjoy the beauty of the Northwest and living near the ocean.



Ho Won Lee
After receiving his degree from Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea, Dr Howon Lee moved to the United States to serve his residency in Internal Medicine at State University of New York Downstate, where he also completed his fellowship in Endocrinology in 2009.  He went to work in diabetic research until 2011 before becoming a Hospitalist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey.  Dr Lee then commenced a fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Nephrology.

Dr Lee moved to the Pacific Northwest with his wife to begin his practice at Pacific Nephrology.

He typically sees patients in Tacoma on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and on Thursdays in our Federal Way office.


Di Zhao
Dr. Zhao was educated at Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing, China where she graduated in 1993.  She served as a Pathology resident for two years before emigrating to the US where she received a Ph.D in Pathology and Neuroscience at Boston University in 2001.
Dr. Zhao served a second residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut from 2005 to 2008, then served as a Hospitalist at Bridgeport Hospital the following year.  In 2009, she went on to earn her fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, Massachusetts.
In August 2011, Dr. Zhao moved to the Pacific Northwest to begin her practice with Pacific Nephrology. Currently she is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
In her spare time, Di enjoys hiking and swimming with her husband and two sons.  She also enjoys gourmet cooking.
